Some Good Ol' Trash Talking

Sean Avery of the Dallas Stars is the undisputed trash talking king of the NHL. In his latest chirpshow, he called out Calgary Flames defenceman Dion Phaneuf. Dion is currently dating movie star Elisha Cuthbert (The Girl Next Door, 24), which is Avery's ex. Before a game in which Avery was going to face Phaneuf, Avery stated "I just wanted to comment on how it's become like a common thing in the NHL for guys to fall in love with my sloppy seconds. I don't know what that's about. But, enjoy the game tonight." (referring to Phaneuf and Cuthbert). Avery was suspended indefinitely pending a meeting with the commissioner. Apparently, it's illegal to trash talk in the NHL now. Here's a video reminding us of the good ol' days when trash talking was a norm in the NHL.
